Founded in 2023 by Lydia Schumake and Tee Wilson, B.E. Academy for Girls (B.E.A.) is a project-based, culturally responsive, STEAM-focused school for girls in grades 6-12. The goal of B.E.A. is to prepare girls with the skills, knowledge, mentorship, access, opportunity, and social emotional support they need to pursue a pathway to college, career, or entrepreneurship
OUR STORY
Join us on the journey to providing an excellent education to Nashville girls.
Our Mission
B.E. Academy empowers our scholars as they transition from dependent learners to independent thinkers. B.E.A. nurtures the intelligence, creativity, oneness, and socio-emotional development of every girl.
Culturally Responsive
B.E.A. intentionally considers elements such as a student's background and perspectives, experiences, and culture in an attempt to strengthen the bond and understanding between teacher and student.
STEM and THE ARTS
B.E.A. will reduce academic and career disparities for young women who pursue a careers in STEM and the arts through access, representation, and a hands-on curriculum.
Our
Impact
B.E.A. is not your typical private school. It is a private non-profit. 65% of B.E.A.’s students come from under-served and under-resourced communities. B.E.A. offers a personalized educational experience to girls who otherwise would not have access or opportunity to receive it.
